Strategically scheduled prior to an engagement with the Cincinnati
Symphony Orchestra, the clarinet virtuoso Richard Stoltzman visited
the WAIF studio and sat down with Chris Comer to listen to some music
and talk about it. In the second hour the pair discussed the
Procrustean Concerto by Andrew Stiller (from the CD "Reflections") and
the Fantasma/Cantos Clarinet Concerto by Toru Takemitsu.
Mr. Stoltzman's comments on contemporary music are spirited and bring
insight to these terrific compositions. Take special care to note the
Fantasma/Cantos, as this is most exceptional music.
